Bissell Steam and Sweep – A Review
The Bissell Steam and Sweep is one of the latest in a line of steam cleaners available on the market and retails between $130-150. This review covers some of the key features that have made this cleaner very popular in many homes across the country.
Bissell Steam and Sweep – the Sweeper
One of the features of the Bissell Steam and Sweep that helped set it apart from its competitors is the sweeper. This 2-in-1 feature allows you to quickly sweep up dust and small debris and then immediately begin steam cleaning. Performing both these actions at once is what makes this cleaner stand above the rest. You save time not having to transition back and forth between a vacuum and a steam cleaner.
Easy To Use Features
The removable water tank makes filling the Bissell Steam and Sweep a breeze. You can even remove the water tank during use if you need more steam to complete the job. The water tank holds enough water to clean approximately two rooms. The ready light lets you know when the water has been heated to the point of becoming steam and the cleaner is ready to use. The swivel head lets you maneuver into tight spaces around and under furniture. Finally, the Bissell Steam and Sweep comes with two machine-washable, reusable mop pads. These pads can be used over and over to create stunningly clean floors – saving money and avoiding waste.
Easy Setup and Assembly
This cleaner is as easy to put together as it is to use. It comes mostly put together and the few remaining pieces are easy to assemble with the use of a Phillips screwdriver. You can have the Bissell Steam and Sweep out of the box and ready to go in just a few minutes.
100% Chemical Free Cleaning
The potential side effects of chemicals, especially for young children and pets have been well documented. With the Bissell Steam and Sweep you are using water to clean your floors. Absolutely 100% chemical free. This makes floors safe for kids and pets immediately after cleaning. While distilled water is recommended, the included filter does remove minerals and other impurities from tap water.
Sanitize and Shine With Steam
If you want clean and shiny floors, steam cleaning is really the best option. While no chemicals are used, the deep penetrating steam is able to kill germs, viruses and even dust mites. The Bissell Steam and Sweep leaves floors with a polished and shiny appearance. Chemical cleaners often leave a residue causing a dull appearance. With steam there is nothing but a clean and shiny surface.
There are a number of other steam mops available on the market made by Eureka, Euro-Pro, Dirt Devil and Black and Decker. However, there are very few models which also contain the vacuum/sweeper feature. The most direct competitor is the Shark Vac-Then-Steam cleaner retailing at around $150-170. The biggest difference between the two is that the Shark model does not allow you to sweep and steam at the same time, you have to perform these actions one after the other. This would seem to give the advantage of saving time to the Bissell cleaner.
